Last week, the annual Andrew Collinge Awards were held to celebrate the success of the business with the additional announcement that Charlie Collinge, son of Andrew and Liz Collinge, would be joining as managing director this spring.

Hosted at the Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse and supported by Tigi Professional, the evening also saw Sarah Collinge, training director for the brand, introduce a fitting tribute to their mother, Hazel Collinge, who passed away before Christmas and was instrumental in setting up the foundations of the business, alongside her husband Peter.

The Hazel Collinge Award for Excellence went to Karen Seaton for her significant role in the company since her training with the Merseyside institution in the 80s.

12 finalists from all levels of experience also took part in the creative awards, with each having presented a contemporary cut and colour look during the day to be judged by a panel including Tigi’s European creative director, Akos Bodi, and European creative technical director, Warren Boodaghians. The winner, who will go on to shoot a creative photographic collection, was Jayne Littler from the Castle Street salon.
