It was announced by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills this week that contracts cannot contain exclusivity clauses preventing employees from working elsewhere, even though the contract does not guarantee work or hours.
NHF chief executive Hilary Hall said: “Zero hours contracts are not really common place across our industry but if your salon does use them, it’s now important to check the small print and remove any exclusivity clauses.”
Employment contracts are one of the resources most requested by NHF members. Changes to employment law means employers must keep their contracts up-to-date.
The NHF provides contracts for members free of charge, visit Nhf.info to find out more.
