Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa has announced the launch of the Jayne Henderson Award for Charitable Contribution in association with hairdressing industry charity, HABB. The new award is dedicated to the memory of Richard Ward team member, Jayne Henderson, who passed away in January this year after a battle with cervical cancer, aged just 26.
With the industry employing a huge number of young females, the new award aims to raise awareness of cervical cancer as well as recognise the charity work of a hairdressing individual or salon on behalf of HABB, and thirdly to promote HABB and the invaluable work it carries out within the industry.
To launch the new award, the first presentation will be made to a member of the Richard Ward team, who have been fundraising in Henderson’s name in the lead up to HABB’s first ‘Hairdressers Helping Hairdressers’ fundraising day on Friday 26 June. All funds raised by the Richard Ward team will go directly to HABB where it will be used to support individuals facing a similar situation.
Richard Ward commented: “This award is not only a chance to honour Jayne, an important and much-loved member of the Richard Ward family, but also to recognise outstanding charity work within the hairdressing industry. We are proud to dedicate this award to Jayne and we hope that the funds raised in her name will go some way to supporting other beauty industry professionals going through a difficult time.”
