Academy Presentation Evening Pays Homage To Best Of British

Shears Academy of Hairdressing held their 2012 Graduate Presentation Evening on the evening of Tuesday 30th October at The Warren, Hayes, Bromley with a ‘Best of British’ theme.  The south east London based hairdressing apprentice training provider host an annual graduation each autumn to celebrate their learners’ achievements; apprentices put on a run-way hair show, with different themes each year.

Opening on this occasion with a Brit Quiz, audience members participated in guessing the year of successful and highlighted hairdressing events followed by the amazingly successful Alternative Hair Show’s 30th anniversary round up, and then it was on with the hairdressing runway show.

Barbering Assessor, Gunel presented a men’s grooming/barbering demo – first with one very structured and modern quiff, and returning after the break with second, alternative casual look to show the versatility required by today’s male clientele.

The presentation of 30 achievers on stage, a popular segment of the annual event, included Customer Service, and the very first of the Academy’s Barbering achievers, two new courses introduced at Shears this year, and will follow with the launch of Afro/curly hair texture qualification in the very near future.

‘Best of British’ was the theme of the catwalk presentation by apprentices displaying a variety of interpretations that included sleek bobs, high fashion and avant-garde inspirations, as well as highlights from yesteryear.  A panel of guest judges chose the winning looks.
