Always wanted to open your own salon? The NHF’s free online guides show you how
The National Hairdressers’ Federation (NHF) has published a series of free online guides to aid hairdressing, barbering and beauty entrepreneurs in successfully launching a new business.
The free guides cover how to get started and how to build a profitable and long-term successful business, with practical tips and advice on market research, property, business plans, obtaining finance, taxes, management, and ideas for growth.
With government figures suggesting up to 20 per cent of new businesses fail within their first year, and up to half within three years, the guides are an invaluable resource for anyone contemplating a move into entrepreneurism.
NHF chief executive Hilary Hall commented: “The economy may be recovering but it is still tough on the high street, which makes it all the more important start-ups do their homework to maximise their chances of success.”
She adds: “Being a great hairdresser, barber or beautician is not by itself a guarantee of success anymore. If you’re serious about going into business, these three guides outline the things you need to be thinking about and planning for well in advance.”
