Backstage Founder Karina Dubinina Honoured at the Houses of Parliament

Karina Dubinina, Founder and CEO of BACKSTAGE, received a prestigious Medal of Honour for Inspirational Leadership and Societal Impact from the Parliamentary Society for Arts during a special ceremony at the Houses of Parliament.

Hosted by Alex Davies-Jones MP, the award recognises individuals whose work has made a significant contribution to society through ethical leadership, positive change and community impact.

Karina’s journey from Ukraine to becoming the founder of an international beauty business was recognised by the judging panel, alongside her commitment to creating opportunities for others and maintaining the highest standards of safety, dignity and professional development across the Backstage organisation.

Accepting the award, Karina said: “Receiving this honour at the Houses of Parliament is something I never expected. For me, it reflects the values that have always guided Backstage – safety, dignity, opportunity and caring for others. Most importantly, it belongs to every member of the Backstage family in Ukraine and London, and to the clients who have supported us throughout our journey.”

Today, Backstage employs more than 450 people across Ukraine and the UK. Alongside growing the business, Karina has championed charitable initiatives, including supporting women serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces through her work as an ambassador for the Zemliachky Foundation.

The award celebrates not only Karina’s entrepreneurial success, but also her dedication to empowering others and creating a business culture built on trust, transparency and care.
