BEAUTY, BROWS AND BUSINESS, Meet Harry Dalton, the Male Pioneer Behind Three of the Industry’s Fastest-Growing Brands
In an industry often fronted by women, Harry Dalton has carved out a name as one of beauty’s most unexpected and impressive success stories. In the last seven years, he’s built three powerhouse brands; Cosmedic Supplies, Buff Browz, and Buff Lashes, all while staying true to his roots and guided by what matters most, his family.
His journey into beauty wasn’t exactly conventional, and while his innovation and business instincts have helped transform the professional beauty space, it’s the real story behind the scenes that truly sets him apart.
Harry really began building his business in the middle of a global pandemic. At the same time, his partner Georgie, permanent make-up artist and founder of GG Brows UK, was building hers. Then came the news that they were expecting twins, and once again life took another shift. What followed was a blur of night feeds, house renovations, growing teams, and back-to-back product launches, all while trying to keep two tiny humans happy and healthy.
“The first 18 months were the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced,” Harry admits. “There were only the occasional little moments that made it all worth it.”
With Cosmedic Supplies still in its early growth phase, and both businesses running from their garden summerhouse, the pressure was intense. Like many founders, Harry made a few decisions under stress, one of which was outsourcing fulfilment, which nearly bankrupted his first brand.
“I was trying to work, but the lack of sleep and constant stress meant it wasn’t going how I wanted. We were running a business with a tiny team, out of a summerhouse in my garden, while raising twins and juggling two careers.”
The pressure continued to mount. As the economy shifted and consumer spending dropped, the PMU market was hit hard. Training course sign-ups slowed, and beauty services became more of a luxury than a necessity. Harry moved his business back into his home, this time operating from the garage, a small step backwards that ultimately laid the groundwork for a much bigger leap forward.
In the background, he was battling constant fatigue, health issues, and the mental toll of being pulled in every direction. “I kept telling myself, and Georgie, that I wasn’t stressed – but I was,” he says. “I didn’t want to admit how much it was affecting me.”
With the business struggling, Harry made what he calls a “last roll of the dice.” He took the last two years of profits from Cosmedic Supplies and invested every penny into a new concept called Buff Browz. He didn’t tell Georgie at the time. Instead, he and a close team member got to work behind the scenes.
And lucky for him, the risk worked.
Buff Browz launched to immediate interest. Built on a deep understanding of what PMU artists and brow professionals actually need, the brand quickly gained traction and thanks to clever product development, strong branding, and Harry’s commitment to delivering real value to beauty professional, he hasn’t looked back since.
From there, momentum only grew and Buff Browz became a staple for artists across the UK and beyond, and with its success came the opportunity to diversify. Enter Buff Lashes, the sister brand built with the same ethos of innovation, performance, and true professional insight. With a range of new lash products landing throughout 2025, it’s shaping up to be another big year, not just for Buff Lashes, but for Harry’s entire portfolio.
Behind the brands is a founder who is open about the messiness of growth, the kind of founder who doesn’t shy away from admitting mistakes or hard lessons learned. His story isn’t polished, and that’s exactly what makes it powerful.
“There’s no playbook for balancing babies and business,” he laughs. “But I know now that nothing great comes without risk. And nothing worth building comes easy.”
Today, Harry is leading three of the industry’s fastest-growing brands and still showing up at home, as a dad, partner, and business owner who built something meaningful out of the most unpredictable chapter of his life.
From a garden summerhouse to an industry legacy in the making, Harry Dalton isn’t just a male pioneer in beauty. He’s proof that resilience, intuition, and a little bit of chaos can create something extraordinary.
