The Beauty Changes Lives (BCL) Foundation has announced that Dr. Howard Murad, board-certified dermatologist and founder of Murad skincare, will be its 2016 Legacy Award honouree.

The non-profit initiative is designed to raise awareness of how careers in the hair, beauty and wellness industry transform lives both personally and professionally. The award recognises individuals in the beauty industry who nurture, mentor, support and inspire the next generation of beauty professionals and has previously been bestowed upon Vidal Sassoon and Tippi Hendren. Dr. Murad, an ongoing supporter of BCL, is the first wellness professional to receive the honour and the first to represent the aesthetics and wellness sectors.

“Dr. Murad’s Inclusive Health philosophy and program has empowered so many people to not just look better, but also to live better,” says BCL President Lynelle Lynch. “The BCL selection panel was inspired by Dr Murad’s efforts to integrate beauty and wellness into his life and work, and his commitment to lifelong learning.”
