Bio Sculpture founder Elmien Scholtz wins global award for emerging entrepreneur

Bio Sculpture founder Elmien Scholtz has been awarded with an Ernst and Young World Entrepreneur Award after scooping the Emerging Entrepreneur category in the South African chapter.

The awards started in the US in 1986 and are now recognised as a global scheme – spanning over 140 cities in 50 countries – for successful business people.

Having originally opened her own salon Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Scholtz went on to launch Bio Sculpture Gel in 1988 offering the world’s first one-step soak-off coloured gel. Today her brand is exported to 39 countries and it sold over 2.4 million products in the year to August 2011.

This year the founder hopes to grow the business further with the introduction of two new product lines.
