Fudge Professional brand ambassador, Natalie Allen recently joined the brand for its sixth season as sponsor of London Collections: Men. At the SS16 showcase, Allen, who owns the Harvey Luke Salon Group in Derby, worked as stylist at Fudge Professional’s dedicated pop-up salon, The Fudge Fix. Here, she kicks off a series of blogs from Fudge Professional brand ambassadors and fills us in on her time on The Fudge Fix floor.

During the four days of LC:M SS16, I was kept busy styling the hair of famous attendees, such as the lead singer of Honne, menswear designer Patrick Grant and even two of the featured designers: Katie Eary and Astrid Anderson. However, the style I am most proud of is the one I gave to a young fashion student who was attending the shows. She had naturally curly hair which I flat-ironed to take away the movement, and then cut in a short deep fringe. I then undercut the sides and finished by graduating and texturising the back and sides of her hair. The student trusted me to tally transform her look and she loved the finished result.

When I wasn’t busy styling hair, I was also testing out Fudge Professional’s new products such as the Light HED-ed Oil and a new favourite of mine, the Xpander Jelly, which thickens even the thinnest of hair and is out later this year – it worked a treat on some of my male clientele at The Fix!

A highlight for me is being part of the team at The Fix. It was great to catch-up with the other ambassadors; as most of us have now worked at The Fix for the past couple of seasons we have become good friends.

I think it’s important to get out of the salon for few days and work in a completely different creative environment and collaborate with stylists from a variety of backgrounds. From watching the other brand ambassadors, I was able to bounce off their ideas which left me feeling very inspired. In addition to enhancing my own skills, I was able to share the experience with my own stylist, Fern Wright, who came along to work in The Fix for two of the days.

I used social media to document my experience so that my clients in Derby, who are always eager to hear about what I get up to at LC:M, were able to keep up with everything I was doing. Since being back in the salon, I’ve been sharing the new trends and techniques that I picked up this season with them. LC:M is not only a great time for me but it benefits my business too.
