BLOG: Fudge Fix LC:M SS16 diary by Fudge Professional brand ambassador Reece Bullman
In the second of our LC:M SS16 blog series by Fudge Professional brand ambassadors, Reece Bullman of Chopp Hair in Essex tells us all about his fashion-filled days on the Fudge Fix pop-up salon floor.
This was my sixth season of working with Fudge Professional at London Collections: Men and it’s been great to be able to see the brand’s success grow with each passing season. This particular season I was based in The Fudge Fix pop-up salon full time, styling VIP attendees’ hair. I really enjoyed the experience as I felt I got to know people from all different industries. We had guests trying to come back to try other hairstyles or to just hang out us with us in The Fudge Fix, which is testimony to the fantastic atmosphere that Fudge Professional has worked so hard to create with The Fudge Fix over the past few seasons.
Not only is The Fix building a strong reputation among the crowd at LC:M, it’s helping me in my career at Chopp as well. My current clients love hearing my stories from my time there, but I have also gained new ones from taking part! For example, last season, I became friends with singer Martin Luke Brown and he’s been making the trip to Essex to the have his hair cut by me, ever since. A lot of the guests I styled for this time around have told me that they are going to do the same, so I‘m looking forward to seeing their faces in my salon chair soon!
During my time at The Fudge Fix, I got to experiment with lots of the new Fudge Professional products, some of which haven’t even launched yet. I learned all about the different ways to use the new Xpander Jelly – a styling product that thickens even the thinnest of hair and is out later this year. I got some good practice using the Jelly during the four days I was at The Fudge Fix and even used it on a few beards! Although the Xpander Jelly is a really innovative product and was fun to play with, I think my new favourite Fudge Professional product would have to be the Structure Wax. I love how versatile it is; I could use it confidently on all types of hair and know I would get exactly the look I was going for.
Of all the looks I created over the four days at The Fudge Fix, I think my personal favourite is the one I did for Jenico from the British Fashion Council. I’ve styled his hair at The Fudge Fix for three seasons now and he’s a great guy. He was actually getting married the week after LC:M SS16 and had waited to get his hair cut at The Fudge Fix especially. I was honoured to be able to be involved in such a special and personal moment of someone’s life. It just goes to show how the connections made at The Fudge Fix and LC:M carry on and strengthen from season to season.
