Hello again, folks!

After a very hectic March and April of events and networking, this month has been mainly concentrating on the salon: being here, sorting out all the admin, and knuckling down with clients. It has been really good to settle into the daily salon routine and to be able to spend full weeks here to ensure that it is all working properly – rather than like last month when I seemed to just be visiting my own salon!

We are at the end of our first quarter so it has been a very accounts-driven month as our first VAT return is being completed. Now, this task fills me with dread, however it is at times like this that I understand and appreciate the need for expert accountants and financial advisors who know what they are doing and can keep us straight! The good news is that we (and our financial advisors) are very pleased with our first quarter figures – so long may that continue!

With business increasing we have added to the team @ The Hair Surgery with super stylist, Tom Corfield. I know Tom well having worked with him in the past, so he has fitted right in and within a couple of weeks it was as though he had always been here! The team is really taking shape now. We will be adding profiles of the team to our Facebook page and website over the next month or so.

We have also just taken on a new retail product for our clients called Colour WOW (, which is an amazing touch up product (like camouflage make-up for the hair) that helps clients to manage their roots in between visits. It is temporary, doesn’t affect or ruin their salon colour and it is flying off the shelves in the salon. It is always fun taking on a new retail product – especially one like this that simply sells itself!

Our long-hair specialist has been busy building our wedding packages and has also started to prepare for her brand new long-hair seminar that she is running at the ASK academy for Clynol in September. You can find out more by calling the Academy on 020 7724 7931.

Amongst all that, we did manage to have a mini break this month – a long weekend in Paris over the bank holiday weekend – so we are now refreshed for the months ahead, which are looking decidedly busy!

Coming next month…

Hear about our Blogger event and also our plans for a Clynol Showcase tour!
