BLOG: Tim Scott-Wright on a busy July and reaching fans on You Tube
Hello again folks!
Whilst many of our clients are off sunning themselves on holiday, I have taken this opportunity to use any spare time to work on marketing and plan in shoots and shows. Although we did treat ourselves to a mini-break at Glastonbury Festival at the end of June, however I think I needed a holiday to recover from it, it was awesome – especially Dolly Parton! On a hairy note, I love seeing what girls do with their hair over the four days of the festival and before we went we posted up some hair ideas and also filmed some great summer festival looks.
This leads me very nicely to the launch of our new You Tube channel, which we started this month and features upcoming trends, some how-to’s and top products. It is all quite new so we are slowly building up our catalogue of video footage but do go and take a look Youtube.com/thehairsurgery.
A lot of the content on the site is for consumers, but we will also have a ‘technical corner’ where I will demonstrate different haircuts and colouring techniques that are more suited to young professional hairdressers looking to gain some inspiration or ideas for their own work.
We are also just planning our next photo shoot with a new photographer, which is always exciting and a little bit scary! The shots need to be used on our marketing material, website etc, so need to reflect our brand – I’ll update you on it next month!
Very excitingly, we have also been asked to do a show for the Fellowship at Salon International in October. It seems quite a way off, but I know it will come round really quickly and, as we are still a relatively young and small team, we want to make sure we are fully prepared.
We will share some images with you next time from our shoot, but in the meantime do drop in and take a look at the new channel.
Until next time,
