Bringing the community together

FACEBOOK COMMUNITY EVENT BY NEVER JUST HAIR: The Power of a Vision

Last weekend, the independent Facebook group Never Just Hair put on their second community event.   The vision for the event is the brainchild of Jax Hirst, founder of the group, sharing ‘The Power of a Vision’ with fellow independent stylists.

Now in its second year, the event has grown organically.  Last year’s event was based on an art gallery and the creative process using mood boards.  This year’s theme moved this on guest artists, given a mood board for them to create a mannequin for a gallery. All inspired by  ‘women doing extra over the centuries’, the gallery led to the stage presentations by 7 artists, to sixty guests in Nottingham.

Guests also had the opportunity to ‘Face Forward’ for a professional headshot to take away by photographer Adrian Hartop.

“It’s about bringing our tribe together to share creativity and inspiration in a supportive environment,” explains Jax.  “Everyone gives their time for free for this event, helping each other out, and we have a strong community ethos.  We want everyone to leave with renewed confidence and a desire to do something extra themselves, big or small.   Just more than ordinary. ”  Jax Hirst.

“Being part of the Never Just Hair family has meant so much to me. Connecting online will always have its place, but you can never beat human connection and meeting at in-person events, making friends, creating connections and most all having fun!!” Lisa Curtis, guest artist.

“So inspiring to spend the day surrounded by so many passionate, like-minded people in the hair industry. Amazing presentations, valuable insight, motivation, and lots of positivity all under one roof.  I absolutely love investing in education, growth, and networking with others who are just as passionate about our industry. Days like this remind you why we do what we do 💫.” Zoe Gaitley, @hairnbeauty_castleford
