This month, Rochdale salon owner, Jamilla Paul, organised a ladies’ lunch to raise funds for local charity Restore, which helps women that are struggling to return to the workplace.

The lunch raised nearly £2,000 for the charity that Paul has supported since its launch three years ago, helping women who may have left school early and have little qualifications or are returning to work after having children.

Named as Rochdale Business Woman of the Year in 2013, Paul also provides a confidence-boosting makeover for every participant as they tackle the job search, and runs an in-salon programme to encourage donations to the charity’s Rochdale shop.

Paul commented: “Many women, for whatever reason, find getting back into work a challenge and Restore helps them seek out the right job opportunities and coaches them so they are confident and well-prepared to apply.”
