City & Guilds partners with MyHairDressers.com on innovative digital training resources
City & Guilds and online hairdressing education site MyHairDressers.com have entered into an exclusive UK partnership to design and sell training resources supporting the teaching and learning of hairdressing, barbering and beauty qualifications.
As the sector prepares for new training standards that are to be introduced in May 2015, the two companies have united to bring education for hair and beauty students into the digital world. Students from across the UK will be able to develop their skills through video-based resources that provide training on the latest techniques, qualification performance criteria and knowledge.
From 1st September this year, over 500 videos, with more than 800 supporting PDFs, will be accessible via computers, tablets, and mobile phones, allowing for remote access to cutting edge training resources.
Aimed at learners undertaking NVQs, VRQs and SVQs from Levels 1 – 3, the resources will also support trainers by making it easier to track individuals’ performances and engage learners effectively.
Diane Mitchell, City & Guilds hair portfolio manager, said: “These videos use innovative new technology to give hair and beauty students access to the best training available and are an exciting development in the beauty and hairdressing industries. At City & Guilds we are committed to supporting the use of this type of technology to aid teaching and learning and this project is a fantastic example of how industry and educational providers can work together to enhance opportunities for trainers and learners alike.”
