Clipso celebrates talented youth with Young Superstar Awards 2014

The Clipso salon group recently held its annual Young Superstar Awards, celebrating the educational successes of the group’s assistants and trainees.

Held at the L’Oreal Academy in London, the event saw participants ranging from NVQ Level 1 to 3 displaying their creative expertise to an audience of family, friends and colleagues.

Each trainee was judged on a complete look delivered on a model along with a catwalk presentation to explain their concept and technique, with the competition compered by Scott Halsey, salon manager and artistic director at Clipso Watford.

This year’s judging panel included industry renowned Bruno Marc, creative director at Marc Antoni, Lindsay Calvert, managing director of the Clipso salon group, Angela Holland, technical consultant at L’Oreal Professional and Scott Fairbairn, salon director at Electric salon.

Julia Webb, senior educator of Clipso training academy commented: “At Clipso, education is very important to us and we’re very proactive at encouraging all team members to develop their skills. When it comes to the assistants we make sure all of them are put through extensive training, as they are the future of the salon group.”

Each winner received £100 worth of gift vouchers, while Hollie Greenahalgh from Clipso Watford scooped the coveted Young Superstar Overall Award and was gifted a course of her choice at L’Oreal Professional worth £300. Runners up received £50 worth of gift vouchers while everyone also received a certificate and a goodie bag.
