How to Help Your Salon Throughout the Current Drought Crisis
The current global environmental crisis is more prevalent than ever before, and it cannot be ignored. Almost three-quarters of England has now been declared to be in a drought, and with conditions not improving, we caught up with Nilofer Aydinli, Managing Director of Enki Towels, who shares her thoughts on how we can keep looking after the planet through our everyday lives, to help the UK recover from this extensive weather impact.
Conserving Water
The biggest thing that you can do to take part in helping the UK through this drought is to save on water; this sounds minor, but it can really make a difference. These can be small daily habits that you might not even notice.
For example, making sure the tap is off entirely when not in use, even reporting a minor leak you may have noticed at the backwash, can make a change for the better.
I would also aim to only fill the mop bucket up to the halfway mark when doing your daily salon cleans, to ensure you’re not overly wasting. Managing your water waste will help you to monitor your water expenses more carefully.
Small Changes Can Make Big Differences
No matter how small it may seem in the moment, small changes will always lead to improving a situation.
Implementing sustainable measures within the salon is the biggest step you can take in helping the environment in this crisis; opting for disposable towels over reusable cotton towels will help to remove unnecessary laundry and the water consumption that is alongside this, whilst reducing additional water costs that accompany the towel washing procedure. One box can eliminate water, detergent and electricity
Your Voice Can Make Big Difference
Discussing the drought crisis within your community can also make a big difference. Putting out a message and sharing it on your local community news pages or social media can be a great way to unite those around you. This can help you to share what measures you are taking to conserve water, with the wider community, whilst finding out what others are doing that may be relatable to you and your business.
