Inverurie salon Élan scoops top environmental accolade at Business Green Leaders Awards
Inverurie salon Élan is celebrating adding another environmental award to their growing list after scooping one of the UK’s most prestigious awards last week.
The Aberdeenshire salon pipped blue chip heavyweights SC Johnson and The Carbon Trust to win Energy Efficiency Project of the Year, in the most highly competitive category at the Business Green Leaders Awards.
A glittering celebration hosted by Mock the Week panelist and comedian Mark Watson saw over 550 CEOs, MPs and business leaders assembled to celebrate innovations in sustainability by British companies.
Élan’s owner Lorna Milton commented: “You don’t have to be big to think big and make a real difference. What we have achieved here is amazing for us as we we’re competing with many conglomerates that have huge resources to invest in green initiatives. But it should be a wakeup call for the hairdressing industry to really take ‘green’ seriously and start focusing more on doing business in a more sustainable way.”
As the UK’s leading digital publisher specialising in all things environmental, Business Green Leaders is the authoritative voice for the green economy that’s respected by UK business leaders and Government. The Awards event is now in its fourth year and is firmly respected as the leading event in its field.
Central to Élan’s win was the range of innovative measures they have implemented, the massive reductions in environmental impacts and the significant business savings achieved as a result.
The award was collected on behalf of Élan Hair Design by Paul Evans from Vivid PR.
