Joshua Galvin Hair Academy student wins at annual Chris & Sons competition
East London’s Joshua Galvin Hairdressing Academy is celebrating a win for one of its students at this year’s Chris & Sons competition.
Rhyannon Wagg, who is currently studying hairdressing at the JG Academy, won Student of the Year at the prestigious hairdressing competition organised for learners at colleges and academics across the country. Wagg triumphed at the competition that attracted 28 NVQ level 2 hairdressing learners from 14 colleges and academies across the UK who regularly work with Chris & Sons.
The judges, including director of Jamie Stevens London, Gary Barker, were impressed with Wagg’s Asia-inspired styling that she completed as part of the competition’s global theme and won her a day shadowing Barker at the Jamie Stevens salon and a place on a two day Patrick Cameron training course. Wagg will also get to represent the UK at the Madrid based Young Promises Show at Look International 2014.
