Master Jam Europe 2014 in pictures

The world’s master stylists, cutters, colourists and make-up artists took to the stage last weekend to showcase their creativity at Aveda’s Master Jam Europe 2014.

Held at London’s Excel Centre on Sunday 12th October, Aveda global artists and international special guests joined forces to present innovative techniques and practical demonstrations as part of a spectacular show that was held for the first time during Salon International.

A celebration of hairdressing for salon professionals, the show is designed to inspire innovation and creativity and this year attracted an audience of more than 1,500 industry experts.

Highlights included an opening presentation from the Aveda Canada team with an eco theme aimed to incite change, combining Aveda’s mission of environmental responsibility with beautiful hair.

Global artistic directors Ricardo Dinis, Allen Ruiz and Tippie Shorter presented sculptural cuts inspired by the Icelandic landscape, reptilian up-dos in homage to modern day science fiction movies, and innovative textured styles respectively. Global artistic directors of hair and make-up, Ian Michael Black and Janell Geason, closed the show with tribal influences lending colourful looks to sweeping couture gowns.

The winner of Aveda’s 2014 Fashionista International Award was also announced as Ilya Balkov of ES Standard Salon in Krasnodar, Russia, who triumphed amongst finalists from Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Norway, Spain, Turkey and the UK.
