Meet Mallo: The Smart Tech Challenger Taking on Britain’s Business Energy Broker Giants
Upload a bill, see participating suppliers’ base prices in seconds and sign online. No forms. No sales calls. No hidden mark-ups. Just one simple, transparent fee.
Buying business energy shouldn’t be this complicated. Mallo has launched to make it simpler.
As Britain’s salons battle rising costs, the new online platform is designed to help small businesses take back control of one unavoidable overhead: energy.
Mallo lets businesses upload a photo of their gas, electricity or water bill, and using their newly developed smart tech – compare prices from participating suppliers in seconds and sign their contract online, all in one simple journey.
No forms to wade through. No sales calls to sit through. No faff.
Mallo has been built to challenge the traditional business energy brokerage model. Instead of adding percentage commissions or hidden mark-ups to energy prices, businesses can access participating suppliers’ base prices (the actual price the broker receives, no broker bloat), with Mallo’s fee shown clearly: £365 per meter, per year (just £1 a day) for electricity and gas, and water will be launching soon at £36.50 per year (just 10pence per day).
No hidden mark-ups. No percentage commissions. Just a clear fee and a transparent route to the price of energy.
Matt Chaplin, co-founder of Mallo, said:
“Small businesses are being squeezed from every direction. We built Mallo to put the business owner back in control. Upload your bill, see the prices, avoid the broker bloat, make your decision and get back to running your business. No sales calls. No hidden fees. No faff.”
Mallo is designed for the businesses that keep Britain’s high streets and local economies moving – salons, barbers, restaurants, hotels, pubs, bakers, butchers, retailers and thousands of other small businesses with premises to run and bills to pay. It’s the smarter way to buy energy.
Spend less. Stress less.
Built by energy insiders who wanted to do things differently
Mallo was founded by Matt Chaplin and Lloyd Russell, who between them have decades of experience in the UK business energy industry.
Both started their careers at British Gas Business, part of Centrica, before going on to co-found Clear Energy Solutions, an energy consultancy serving medium and large corporate energy users with more complex requirements.
Having spent their careers inside the business energy market, Chaplin and Russell saw an opportunity to take that experience and build something radically simpler and more transparent for small businesses.
Lloyd Russell, co-founder of Mallo, said:
“We know how complicated business energy can look from the outside. Mallo strips that back. See what suppliers are offering, understand what you’re paying and make the decision yourself. It should just be simple.”
