NEW COLLECTION: Change by Allilon Education
The latest collection from the Allilon Education art team, ‘Change’, was inspired fby JR, a French artist whose work fuses art and act around themes commitment, freedom, identity and limit.
The natural backgrounds and environments his work is exhibited in were the cue for Allilon Education colour director, Madeleine Murphy, who created palettes of light violets, pinks, lilacs, turquoise and blues offset by inky indigos, deep violets, whites and deep brunettes, as seen in the sunsets and sunrises that often form the backdrop to JR’s work. Coppers, brick reds, muddy browns and earthy tones have been used at the roots of the hair, inspired by the dust, brick and buildings his work is often showcased on.
Sectioning patterns have been inspired by the tessellating squares, rectangles and oblong shapes JR prints his images on, while accents of black, white, and grey are used throughout as a nod to his preferred pallet. Strong, glowing roots showcase the models’ personalities and are a reference to the artist’s portraits.
Johnny Othona, Director, Allilon Education: “JR’s work inspired us to create a bold collection inspired by a celebration of humanity and the traits that unite us as individuals. Fundamentally we are all the same, but completely unique. We are all human until race disconnects us, religions separate us, politics divide us and wealth classifies us.”
