O&M announces partnership with Green Salon Collective
O&M has announced a partnership with Green Salon Collective for 2024, set to reward salons for beingmore sustainable. The partnership is the first of its kind for GSC, who are offering a monthly GSCcredit/voucher of £25 per every 50 tubes (so £50 per 100 tubes and so on) to any salon buying O&MCOR.color (£8.95/tube – PIA price.)
By also adding a nominal £1 “Green Tax” charge to each colour service bill (similar to the H&S chargeduring covid), on average this will more than cover the monthly GSC cost of £140, and in all likelihoodmake a profit, as well as attracting new clients and offering a marketing point of difference.
Astonishingly, less than 2% of salon metals (foil and colour tubes) are recycled, with the rest – millionsof tons – going to landfill. Green Salon Collective recycles specialist hair salon waste across the UK andIreland, which includes typically landfilled waste, like cut hair and contaminated salon foil and colourtubes. With over 10 different ways to reuse and recycle waste hair, it’s used to clean up oil spills, createart and sculpture, and even to make a hair & wool gardening twine – all fantastic talking points forclients!
Developed for hairdressers by hairdressers, O&M’s CØR.color range is an innovative vegan formula clean from Ammonia, PPD and Resorcinol. Following years of research and in-salon testing, CØR.color represents a huge leap forward for the hair industry, with the introduction of a progressive new colour technology–Molecular Blend Technology (MBT).
This revolutionary colouring system pre-links base and reflect colour pigments, allowing them to develop more effectively and evenly, giving superior coverage while minimising the risk of scalp irritation. CØR.color is the answer to an industry-wide problem of increasing chemical sensitivity while pleasing consumers on the lookout for ever-more effective natural beauty solutions, AND allowing colourists to achieve stunning results with no compromise.
This new partnership enables O&M Salons to extend their sustainable ethos by closing the loop and ensuring the empty tubes never end up in landfill.
The Science Behind CØR.color
+ Hair colour pigments come in two forms: base and reflect
+ Molecular Blend Technology pre-links these pigments in the laboratory, taking into consideration the specific molecular weight of each pigment
+ Once all base and reflect pigments are paired, no unlinked pigments remain which couldcause scalp irritation
+ This linking process also guarantees that all pigments are fully developed and oxidised duringthe colour process
+ The result is greater grey coverage (up to a level 9) without the need for Ammonia
