Redefine The Apprenticeship Experience Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2024

Embarking on a career in the dynamic and ever-evolving world of hair and beauty is an exciting journey, and what better way to kickstart it than through apprenticeships at Q Hair & Beauty in Chichester?

As a leading name in the industry, Q Hair & Beauty doesn’t just offer hairdressing and beauty services or simply act as an apprenticeship host; it’s also a hub for learning, creativity, and professional and personal growth.

Apprenticeships at the award-winning salon group provide a unique opportunity to blend hands-on experience with expert guidance, fostering a rich learning environment that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the competitive realm of beauty and hairdressing.

With Q Hair & Beauty, apprenticeships aren’t just a stepping stone; they’re a valuable and relevant gateway to a rewarding career in the vibrant world of beauty and hairdressing.

Speaking to the team about their career journey these are the takeaways:

Lucia Jackson said “I am currently in south-east Asia, exploring the world and soaking up the culture. Choosing my apprenticeship at Q opened doors I simply had no idea would be available. Outside of my salon responsibilities, I have been around Europe on paid work education trips, I also I work every other Saturday which deviates from industry norm. While I can, I want to travel the world, without sacrificing my career. Does it really get any better than that?”

Alice Bramley said “I qualified in January 2022. My apprenticeship at Q was a great choice, I am able to work and learn from the best educators, brands and stylists. I particularly like the fact that after you qualify, you don’t stop learning, it continues! I am really enjoying myself and can’t wait to progress and learn even more.”

Alex Cohen said “I completed my apprenticeship at the beginning of 2017. The best thing about learning via my apprenticeship was that I could come straight from finishing school and get stuck in learning but also earning at the same time. I didn’t have to get a part time job in the evenings to give myself extra money! I was looked after really well by the team and became a part of the Q family!”

Iona Hilton said “I officially qualified in December 2022, and my apprenticeship experience was truly enjoyable. Learning within the salon setting proved to be incredibly helpful, enabling me to progress rapidly by applying my skills immediately. Despite initial concerns about completing my apprenticeship after attending college and feeling like I started later, I was warmly welcomed by the salon team, and I quickly realized that age is not a barrier to starting a successful career. Since then, it has been a whirlwind journey for me, being named a finalist in various awards, such as the British Hairdressing Business Awards, and achieving the honour of being the Future Talent award winner at the Salon Awards 2023.”

Izzy Street said “I chose to pursue an apprenticeship because it allows me to learn while on the job, boosting my confidence through hands-on experience. I appreciate the opportunity to observe others at work, as I learn best by watching. What I’m enjoying so far includes the ability to confidently communicate with clients, witnessing the positive impact on their confidence with new hairstyles, and the satisfaction of seeing clients smile after my work. Additionally, continuously learning new skills for self-improvement, all within the positive and vibrant atmosphere of the salon is a great place to be.”

Apprenticeships at the Q Hair and Beauty Academy offer education to an elite

standard in an active working salon, providing the ideal environment for students to

grow and develop their skills while building confidence in themselves and their ability

for a future career in the hair or beauty industry.
