Saks Hair & Beauty raises over £10k in five hours for women’s cancers
Saks Hair & Beauty held an action-packed charity day to raise funds and awareness for gynaecological cancers, with an amazing £10,000 raised in just five hours.
As part of a two-year charity partnership with The Eve Appeal, the salon chain opened its doors on Sunday 6 September for a nationwide fundraising effort offering hair and beauty appointments in return for donations.
Saks stylists and therapists gave their time for free so customers could enjoy some pampering alongside an array of other fun activities including big prize raffles, gynaecological games, #Saks4Eve selfies and a pants parade along with the refreshments, fizz and cake.
Furthering the #Saks4Eve momentum, Saks franchisees Paul Carrigan (Saks Leeds and Saks Harrogate) and Ashley Cameron (Saks Wetherby and Saks York) completed a gruelling challenge on Monday 7 September, running 13.1m per day on seven consecutive days, culminating in the Great North Run on 13 September and raising over £3,000 in the process.
Elsewhere the team from Saks Sutton Coldfield braved a skydive with Skydive Buzz Dunkeswell at Taunton, Saks Chester completed a 24-hour hairdressing challenge, and Saks Barnard Castle held a World Record blow dry attempt.
The total funds raised will go towards the brand’s aim of raising £100,000 by end 2016.

We chose to support The Eve Appeal to take our ethos to another level and in no way did we anticipate this level of response from our network of franchisees and salon teams. They’ve surpassed our expectations with the level of commitment to this worthwhile cause.
