STRICTLY’S DIANNE BUSWELL’S DUSKY MAHOGANY HAIR TRANSFORMATION WITH GREAT LENGTHS

Dianne Buswell has unveiled a brand-new hair transformation just in time for the return of Strictly Come Dancing, swapping her signature fiery red locks for a softer dusky mahogany-rose shade.

Known almost as much for her statement hair as her moves on the dancefloor, the Strictly professional debuted the new look as she prepares to take to the ballroom with her 2026 celebrity partner, TV and radio presenter Will Best.

Created at Larry King South Kensington by Dianne’s long-time hairstylist and Great Lengths advocate Vicky Dimitriou, the transformation sees her signature red evolve into a softer, multi-tonal palette, with Great Lengths extensions used to build dimension through the lengths and ends.

Dianne has been a long-standing fan of Great Lengths extensions, relying on them to give her the length and volume she loves while allowing her hair to withstand the demands of life as a professional dancer. From intricate up-dos and sleek ponytails to waves, braids and high-impact show styles, versatility is essential when her hair can take on a completely different look from one week to the next.

For her latest transformation, Vicky used Great Lengths in a mix of 40cm, 45cm and 50cm lengths. She carefully blended Rose Quartz, Heavenly Hazel and Mahogany Hue to complement Dianne’s new dusky colour and create a seamless, natural-looking finish. Vicky said, “Dianne’s colour is all about those beautiful multi-tonal shades. We’ve played with tones of pink, burnt orange, brown and peach to create contrasting highlights that give the hair this gorgeous shimmer.

“One of the things I really wanted to do was graduate the colour through the lengths, and extensions are such a beautiful way of doing that without having to put the natural hair through the colouring process. By scattering the extensions throughout the hair, you can add different tones towards the bottom and through the ends, almost colour manipulating the hair and creating something much more interesting to look at.

“It also gives you the freedom to experiment with shades and combinations that can be really difficult to achieve or maintain with colour alone, so it’s a lovely way to introduce those more unusual tones.”

The move marks a softer evolution of the vibrant red hair Dianne has become synonymous with over the years, while still keeping the statement colour and individuality that has become such a recognisable part of her look.

With the new series of Strictly Come Dancing getting underway, Dianne’s Great Lengths will once again need to work just as hard as she does, taking her from rehearsals to the ballroom and through an ever-changing line-up of show-stopping hairstyles.
