Tan Organic teamed up with blogger and cancer survivor Eimear Coghlan to promote safe tanning as part of the black ribbon campaign, together taking their message to some of the capital’s busiest spots.

Despite a rainy day on Thursday 13 August, the eco-certified self-tanning brand walked a procession of bikini-clad models, including Miss Bikini Ireland Judy Fitzgerald, down Oxford Street where they bravely showed off their fake tans while handing out Tan Organic samples and skin cancer information leaflets.

Coghlan then led a trike bide ride, complete with a 20 foot inflatable Tan Organic self-tan bottle, stopping off at Carnaby Street, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Leicester Square and Covent Garden. The event also saw the biggest ever self-tanning giveaway in the world with over 5,000 free samples being given to passers-by in a bid to encourage safe tanning.

Noelle O’Connor, founder of Tan Organic, says: “Although the dangers of a real tan are well documented, people are still doing it, putting their health and lives at risk. Our day of fun demos is about spreading the word and putting safe tanning on everyone’s agenda.”
