The search is on for 2014’s Small Business Saturday 100
Small Business Saturday UK aims to champion small businesses, with the initiative sharing the story of one company per day on their social media channels for the 100 days running up to the main event on 6th December, starting on 29th August.
Last year’s 100 benefitted from the social media exposure along with local press, and all attended a reception in Downing Street with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.
“The first Small Business Saturday was an exceptional example of collaboration and cooperation with small businesses teaming up in communities around the UK, over a third of all local authorities committing support, and complete cross-party political support,” explains campaign organiser Michelle Ovens.
“However, we always said we wanted this to be the start of something amazing; a regular event that shines a light on small businesses throughout the UK in a way which is hugely beneficial to both local and the national economy,” Ovens adds.
Small businesses hoping to make the 100 should email email@example.com with the subject heading ‘Small Business 100’.
Your application email should be no longer than 100 words but needs to set out the name of your business, where you are based, and what you do, along with an image of you in your business. The organisers would also like to know what you will be doing this year to make the most of Small Business Saturday for your business and your community.
Remember to include your digital details, such as website address, and social media handles.
The deadline for entries is 31st July 2014. Chosen businesses will be informed by 22nd August.
