Trevor Sorbie treats salon family to The Event
Sorbie kicked off proceedings by taking to the stage and reflecting on his 50 years in hairdressing, before announcing plans for the brand’s future, including the news of the new Shanghai academy opening in January 2015, with opportunities for the team, which spans five salons, to travel out and educate there.
Next, the six finalists of the Assistant Competition presented their models and moodboards, before Gianmarco Catapona was announced as the winner, followed by Tiziana di Marcelli landing both Employee of the Year in the Business Awards as well as Sorbie Image of the Year in the Pure Photographic Awards. The latter invited entrants to submit an un-retouched artistic shot taken on their smart phone or camera, with other winners including Ilaria Capitanelli, a salon assistant whom Sorbie congratulated for an imprresive shot.
The afternoon saw artistic demonstrations and shows from the Art Team Part Deux, various art team members and Johanna Cee Brown, who wrapped up the day with inspiring model looks before the team took to the Balls Brothers venue for their Christmas party.
