A mystic decade!

This year Nails and Co. are celebrating ten years in business, and what a journey it has been…

Rebecca Orme, the company’s MD, started the company in 2008 to become a sub-distributor of a popular nail enhancements brand, which quickly led to her also becoming an International Educator for the brand.

“One of my main focuses has been providing great education that supports the products that nail techs buy from us,” said Rebecca. “My goal has always been to provide the details, the foundation lessons to being a great nail technician who can then troubleshoot any eventuality. I see a lot of nail techs who struggle with things like lifting, and don’t know how to fix it, often blaming the product when some simple knowledge and proper techniques (that they weren’t taught in their beginners’ course) are all that’s needed – and greatly appreciated by the tech!”

This has led Rebecca to grow Nails and Co. into a company that is now the exclusive distributor of Mystic Nails, a Hungarian brand Rebecca came across quite by accident, but loved once she tried it.

“I pride myself on only offering the best products at Nails and Co. I test everything, and some products or brands just haven’t made the cut. When I tried MN L&P I was really excited, the range offered lots of colour choices for Pink and Whites and a big range of colour powders, and the Colour Me! gel polish has amazing versatility which allows techs to prescribe the application based on the clients’ nail plate.

“We have a great following building, considering we have only been distributing the brand for less than 12 months, we have supplied numerous colleges and academies as well as nail techs and salons.”

Mystic Nails gets some great coverage from fans such as Marie Sharkey who uses the MN liquid and powder as her core brand on the facebook group The Nail Angels. Carol Hailstone swears by the MN Supreme Paints for her One Stroke nail creations, classes and video classes she has partnered with Sam Biddle to offer online.

The range has some real gems, such as the sculpting forms, which once you have used you’ll not want to use anything else again! They give so much flexibility and support that you don’t even need to pinch the nail at the end, saving you time. Then there is Flexi Builder Base, an amazing brush-on builder gel, which gives technicians the opportunity to create an apex on flat nails just having a gel polish application, but doubles up as an amazing way to fix crystals!

“MN are constantly updating the ranges,” said Rebecca, “and the newest addition is ‘Fill and Form’ – an acrygel that is simply amazing, taking the guesswork out of L&P application. This pre-mixed formula feels like L&P during application with the brush but only cures when you want it to. With its affordable trade price tag it’s a real game changer for nail technicians who struggle with L&P application.”
