Rainbow Room International Podcast Inspires the Next Generation of Hairdressers
Scotland’s largest salon group, Rainbow Room International, is showcasing its passion for hair, education, and innovation through its podcast series. Hosted by Salon Director Riccardo Corvi, the podcast provides a rare insider’s look into the salon group’s rich history, culture, and vision for the future.
Riccardo, who joined the salon group at the age of 16, brings a lifetime of experience and energy to the series. The podcast aims to inspire hair professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in the story of building a successful business grounded in creativity and integrity.
Riccardo explained that the idea of a podcast began as a suggestion from founders Alan and Linda Stewart. “I’d been asked to create a podcast a few times and never really felt the timing was right. After talking to Alan one day about the importance of preserving our brand values, the idea clicked. The podcast could be an internal training resource, open to the public, clients, and the industry. Even if no one listened, it wouldn’t bruise my ego!”
He added that the timing felt right because, in a climate of industry negativity, sharing their journey and insights could inspire others. Although the podcast is designed with younger team members in mind, Riccardo emphasised that it’s for everyone:
“Whether someone has just joined Rainbow Room or has been with us for twenty years, they can hear firsthand from the founders and directors. Parents, former team members, clients, anyone interested in our craft, our people, and our commitment, can connect with the brand through this series.”
The podcast fits naturally into the salon group’s culture of continuous learning. Riccardo highlighted the group’s dedication to education: “We have always focused on growth and excellence. Our education director, Laura Kerr, was inducted into the BHBA Hall of Fame, but we don’t stop there. By sharing our ‘Origin Story’ series, we give every team member insight into our philosophy, passion, and approach to hairdressing.”
Riccardo hopes listeners gain a sense of the genuine care and commitment behind the brand: “I want people to hear our passion, for education, for our team, and for delivering exceptional service. We want every team member to ask: Are we better today than yesterday? Will we be better tomorrow? That’s the mindset we hope to inspire.”
The podcast has new episodes every two weeks, exploring the journeys of directors, standout stylists, and friends of Rainbow Room International. Riccardo is also planning a special “WHY” series, exploring the philosophy and principles that drive RRI’s success.
“By sharing these stories, we hope to build a library of invaluable insights for current and future team members, and eventually, others at Rainbow Room International will take the mic, continuing the conversation and inspiration,” he explained.
