Addicted to Love Island?
We are all full aware of the effects of sun cream on clothes, turning the seams a lovely dirty shade which is really hard to wash out. Just like our clothes, our hair can also be affected by these UV protectors and this is no more highlighted than by the extension-loving Love Island contestants with pink and orange ends to their tresses.
With more and more products out there with UVA protection in, including hair protection sprays, hair perfume, body lotion to name but a few; we all like the idea of taking good care of ourselves but this for those wearing hair extensions you may notice a change in your hair colour where your hair has touched the product. This may be patchy.
I’ve taken to watching Love Island as we can see this happening in real time. Laura’s hair has turned pink and the hairdressing team have obviously tried a purple shampoo but the only thing that is hiding this at present is the loose curls.
It’s been a great topic of fun in our private Super Stylist Facebook group as we watch “just for the hair” of course!
Reality TV definitely drives clients to extensionists to get the look but these clients need to understand how to care for the extensions, whilst protecting their skin.
