Fellowship Creative XChange™ Round Up!

In March, The Fellowship for British Hairdressing launched their brand-new platform sharing events – the Fellowship Creative XChange™ in Knutsford, Doncaster, and Glasgow. The Creative XChange™ events will seek to cover all aspects of the hairdressing and barbering industry, from traditional to contemporary techniques in cutting, styling, colour and barbering across all hair types and textures. These events are an opportunity for creatives to come together to present new ideas and techniques, collaborate with like-minded individuals to build stronger local communities and educational learning HUBS.

Fellowship Creative XChange™ have been implemented to build up local creative communities and encourage professionals to become members of the Fellowship and to apply for the Fellowship’s Bespoke Education Projects.

The first Creative XChange™ took place at Benny & Co. in Knutsford – the salon of ClubStar Art Team 2023/24 Leader, Jamie Benny. Attendees were invited for a night on creative styling, with Jamie Benny, Luke Roberts and Charles Rose showcasing their expertise and knowledge on creating beautifully styled hair.

Emma Mulvihill, an attendee at the Knutsford Creative XChange™ said: “What a fantastic idea, allowing creatives to get together and collaborate, share ideas, learn, and grow in a relaxed environment. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to connect with other people in my industry and would love to see more of these events popping up especially in the North. Not only did I feel it was very affordable, but we were made to feel very welcome by all and I will look forward to attending, or maybe even hosting the next one!”

Doncaster was next up in the Creative XChange™ line-up, taking place at Project X 2025 Support, Olivia Rose Brady’s salon, HoneyComb Hair. Attendees had a fabulous evening with talented inspirational stylists and educators from Yorkshire. Oliva Rose Brady, Kay Binnersley, and Claire Keith demonstrated a series of looks, sharing techniques and tips for the perfect finish.

Kay Binnersley, one of the demonstrators at the Doncaster Creative XChange™ said: “Attendees were engaged and full of great questions, particularly about how to break down a style just by looking at it. I walked them through my approach, explaining the different foundations I use for various styles and how product choice plays a crucial role in achieving the desired finish. The atmosphere in the salon was buzzing with creativity and enthusiasm, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. It was fantastic to see so much excitement around the artistry of bridal hair, and I loved sharing my knowledge with such a passionate group of stylists.”

The final instalment of this Creative XChange™ series took place in Liverpool at Phill Gallagher’s Dot Hair. F.A.M.E. TEAM 2025 members Bekki Delehedy and Annie Franklin were on hand to showcase their work and give insight into their favourite trends and techniques alongside Jordan Heyes, Lesley Reay, and Carla Keating.

“It was refreshing to be around such warm and friendly people. The talent in the salon was amazing but not a hint of pretentiousness. Everyone was kind and welcoming. I loved the whole evening! I’d definitely be interested in attending another one!” said Jac Spiers, attendee at the Liverpool Creative XChange™.

To start your Fellowship Journey, we’d love for you to host a Creative XChange™ Event in your Salon, Barber Shop or Independent Space.
