Hair Jam at bebop Adds Punk Edge to London’s Hair Scene

bebop’s hair jam returned last Friday with a DIY-inspired event that broke away from the usual polished shows, spotlighting raw talent and unfiltered creativity. This night was about hair as art, with an underground vibe and gritty beats from Antsocial (@anthonyj_murtagh). Hosted by Mikey Noir (@mikeynoir), the event celebrated a rebellious, individual approach to hair.

Hair Jam’s line-up featured thirteen bold artists:

Konrad Lucas (@kbl.colour): An Amsterdam-based stylist who specialises in layered cuts and vibrant colours, Konrad’s approach reflects a commitment to individuality.
Brooke Pascarelli (@brookepascarellihair): A colour expert with a background in London’s top salons, Brooke now applies her skills to film and TV, creating uniquely personal looks for her clients.
Kay Benes (@hairybenes): Inspired by anime, Kay combines fantasy and reality in bold, expressive styles.
Tanahya Grace (@tanahya.hair): Known for vibrant colour with natural undertones, Tanahya’s styles make a statement without overpowering her clients’ features.
Luke Hawkins (@lukey_hawkins): An educator and precision cutter, Luke works with Richard Ashforth, delivering highly tailored cuts that go beyond conventional styles.
Vodka (@styledbyvodka): A drag queen and wig stylist with work featured in Drag Race UK, Vodka creates iconic wigs for performers like Tayce and Victoria Scone.
Dan Stanley (@danleostanley) & Laura Wyatt (@wyattjoanlaura) PEG Hair, Brighton (@peghairsalon): Dan brings years of experience and eclectic inspiration, while Laura, winner of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Future Talent award, blends art and technique for bold client looks.

Phoebe Friend (@phoebefriend_hair) & Stevie Leah (@stevieleahstylist): With 12 years in the industry, this duo brought their creative energy to Hair Jam.
Tom Gear (@txmhair): Specialising in “lived-in” looks for blondes and brunettes, Tom’s style combines pop culture with a relaxed aesthetic.

bebop’s bar kept the night buzzing, offering cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks as attendees mingled with the artists, chatting about techniques and trends in bebop’s open-plan space. The night kept true to the DIY, punk ethos, connecting creatives and hair lovers in a relaxed, intimate setting.
