NEW COLLECTION: Status by Ethos

Ethos’ new Status collection was inspired by the work of two Dutch artists from the late Medieval period, Hieronymus Bosch and Peter Brueghel.

The avant-garde painters’ work featured illustrations of moral or religious concepts and themes of the common man at work in earthy tones offset with shades of teal and and pomegranate. Details of light catching hair and strongly depicted women both influence Ethos’ newest collection.

Here, Ethos presents a step by step to recreate a key looks from the new collection.

Step one

Existing colour – natural base 6 with tinted, lightened mid lengths and ends.

Igora Vibrance 6-0 with 1.9 developer applied globally on dry hair and developed for 20 minutes to create an even base.

Step two

Four triangular sections of scalp braided, starting from the centre crown.

Step three

Braids then teased out with a tail comb and tousled with fingers.

Step four

BlondMe with six per cent worked into the spine of the braid and all exposed ends smudged out to the sides of the spine.

Step five

Hair tinted through three centimetres of root with Igora Royal equal parts 9.5-17, 9.5-18 and 0-88 with three per cent developer for 15 minutes then through the remaining hair for a further 15 minutes.
