The February Issue has landed!

Well, this may not be the start to the year we were after but nonetheless, the only way is up from here. Remember, this is nothing we haven’t dealt with before and the difference this time is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Pandemic or no pandemic, the world keeps turning, everyday life doesn’t stop, and most importantly, love is certainly still in the air which means Valentine’s Day is still going full steam ahead.

Sadly, we now know that salons will not be able to re-open in time for Valentine’s Day. As one of our experts, Kate Woods reveals, that doesn’t mean you should write it off as an opportunity to generate some-much needed income though.

By February, people will be crying out for a pick-me-up, so we’re exploring Valentine’s offerings in the name of love and how you can market them.

Talking of love, does your salon interior need some TLC? We are living in an age where the overall aesthetics of a salon is what’s most likely to draw in new clientele. It all comes down to “how would this look on my Instagram feed?” Well, maybe not totally but you get the gist! We’ve got some experts on hand to reveal what’s hot or not this year when it comes to salon design. It looks like neon lights are sparking conversation on our Salon Interiors feature on page 35.

With the national lockdown going on and, if you’re like me, it’s easy to forget what day it is! It feels like that weird ‘post-Christmas bubble’ of losing track has just continued. Anyway, the 3rd-9th is approaching and this week marks National Apprenticeship Week. In light of this we are exploring how offering apprenticeships within your salon can boost a salon business.

This is just a snippet of our February issue and all our regular features are of course back with a bang. Stay safe, take care and don’t forget to let us know what you think of it all and if there’s anything you’d like us to cover!
