The Hair Council marks Allergy Awareness Week with a free online allergy awareness course
Allergy Awareness Week runs 22-28 April, and we all know how important it is to protect clients from having an allergic reaction to hair colour. To mark the occasion, the generous people at TrichoCare Education have teamed up with The Hair Council to give away a free Allergy Awareness course for its members.
What’s great about this course, is that it’s online and you can dip in and out as you wish. All the information is bite sized, so it’s super easy to grasp and you have the option of saving each stage as you go along and working through it at your own pace.
This is The Hair Council’s commitment to be part of Allergy Awareness Week 2025. Allergy is a big problem, and it’s growing. It’s estimated that a third of people in the UK live with an allergy. Allergy is the most common chronic disease in Europe. Up to 20% of those with allergies live with a severe form of their condition, and struggle daily with the fear of a possible attack, which can be severe.
The course has a value of £65, and upon completion you can download an official TrichoCare Education certificate which gives you 1 hours of CPD. It is specially designed for anyone who works in the hair profession – stylists, colour experts, barbers, juniors, apprentices and reception teams. “There are tens of thousands of hair professionals in the UK, and salons are on every high street. We interact with the public every day, and they often share their health concerns with us. So, whatever your role, knowing more about allergy can be really useful in your workplace, and may just help to save someone’s life, or even your own,” says The Hair Council Registrar & Chief Executive, Gareth Penn.
This will be completely free of charge during Allergy Awareness Week, which this year falls straight after Easter from 22nd April to 28th April. Courses must be taken during this time.
