Can you introduce us to the company?

Moda Salon Interiors was founded in 2008 by Paul Barker (Director); basically a one man band covering the whole of the UK. Over the last ten years Paul has become known as ‘The Barber Chair Man’ even though his history is within the salon industry.

Paul has over 20 years of experience in the salon industry and his original passion was graphic design. This is what introduced him into the industry – creating salon plans and designs for customers throughout the UK. He then added onto his services by selling high end salon furniture, such as Salon Ambience.

Then just over ten years ago the company he worked for decided to sell up which was the turning point for Paul, and he decided to go it alone. A lot of blood, sweat, tears and miles driven across the UK has resulted in Paul building up a great clientele, and he is known for his exceptional customer service and his speciality in Takara Belmont Salon Furniture.

I joined the company in January 2018 having worked in the industry previously for over ten years, which has enabled Paul to concentrate on how to grow the business and offer the same service amongst the salons in the UK.

The last year alone has seen an increase in the number of salons asking for service packages within their salons to ensure that all their equipment is running smoothly. The beauty about Moda is that we can offer everything under one roof – from the start of ideas going onto a plan, then the ordering of the furniture, installation, and then to follow with a great after-care service package.

More salon owner these days are understanding that if they are going to invest in high quality furniture for their business then they need to service it regularly and keep it looking pristine – just as you would a car.

Has Moda won any awards?

It was a pleasure to receive an award from Takara Belmont, and being recognised as one of the top premium dealers last year during a lavish presentation in Bologna Italy.

Who are your clients?

We sell our products throughout the UK to salons, barbers, spas, hotels, care homes, private homes and even cruise ships… the list is endless, you never know who is going to call and it makes it even more exiting when it’s something out of the ordinary! It’s a pleasure to be involved with someone’s dreams and aspirations in starting or growing their business.

Tell me more about your range

All high end, top quality products. We will only sell products we have confidence in and that come from a reputable supplier. There are a lot of copied pieces of furniture which look similar to the real McCoy but will never last as long. Also we know we can provide after-care service and be able to source spare parts for the furniture we sell.

What are your best-sellers?

Within salons, we find one of our most popular products would be the Takara Belmont Adria styling chair, Rollerball F, and Olymp Hairmaster and Bond Washunit.

And any new products in the pipeline?

We have lots of new suppliers coming on board over the next year, we’re looking at introducing infra red light therapy lamps, and we have also introduced a lot of the salon essentials that salons need; trolleys, gowns, hairdryers, hand mirrors, hair/face masks and much more.

Also for 2019 we are going to open up our brand new showroom, which is currently under construction… watch out for the opening date, there are exciting times ahead for Moda Salon Interiors!
