NEW TONI&GUY Leadership Programme – investing in future leaders as 128 graduate with flying colours!

TONI&GUY recently celebrated a night of achievement, set against the stunning backdrop of world renowned Durham Castle (that’s right Harry Potter’s famous Hogwarts dining room!), as 128 company leaders received a unique Diploma in Leadership and Management.

The event marked the end of what has been a specially created two-year Leadership Programme, where TONI&GUY worked closely with Dr. Les Graham and Dr. Sara Gracey, who wrote and subsequently delivered the programme along with their dedicated team based at Durham University Business School.

“I was thrilled to see over 100 TONI&GUY Partners receive their Diploma in Leadership and Management – with such a great ceremony at Durham Castle to mark the successful completion of the course delivered by Durham University Business School. Our Partners are at the heart of the business, and it is through leadership of their teams and of the TONI&GUY brand that enables us to delight our clients’ every day – and to write the next chapter in the TONI&GUY story. Huge congratulations to all our Partners who achieved this prestigious award – and thank you to all for contributing so much to TONI&GUY! Nigel Darwin, CEO

“It was fantastic seeing everyone who had gone through the programme and was a truly great night seeing the winners’ achieving so much and I’m delighted for you all.” Christian Mascolo, Managing Director.

In order to achieve the diploma, all the candidates were required to pass a 2000 word assignment, based around seven core Leadership skills and which focused on supportive leadership, in which the graduates were encouraged to put their followers first, identifying various styles of leadership, understand sound HR practices and also staff wellbeing. The ground-breaking programme will now form a core part of the development of future salon leaders working at TONI&GUY, as it was initially developed from extensive research carried out across managers, staff and clients. Following that research, the official TONI&GUY Leadership Programme resulted in 26 bespoke educational workshops being conducted at locations across the UK. During the evening, there were also 10 individuals who were recognised with special awards for their achievement. This acknowledged those who, not only showed outstanding leadership knowledge, but also had applied it to their salon business; in order to drive performance and excellence in service delivery.

“I am so glad that I invested in this as it’s had the most powerful impact on my leadership and truly helped me lead well in today’s world. The way in which the course is delivered by the university team is as supportive and interactive as the content itself. I began to experience immediately the positive impact and it’s the best way of learning!”
