Scarlett Moffatt – Great Lengths transformation and donation to The Little Princess Trust
TV Favourite, Scarlett Moffatt takes to Instagram to show off her new look. Created over several appointments, Scarlett, already a GL Tapes wearer, wanted to completely transform her look from liquorice black, to a rich, sun-kissed, multi-tonal brondie.
Visiting her regular hair stylist Great Lengths certified Joanne Fox in Hartlepool, Scarlett was keen to have her dark locks lifted and transformed into a fresh, bright brunette shade with the help of award-winning GL Tapes to complete the look. Joanne comments “Scarlett has been colouring her hair for years so we looked at a few images she liked and discussed the best way to achieve something similar without compromising on the condition of her natural hair, which has seen such a huge improvement since she started wearing GL Tapes”.
“We lifted the hair three levels and then added some lighter pieces around her face. I’ve always used extensions to add colour and GL Tapes are the easiest to do this with as the lighter colour can be positioned underneath and darker on top – it keeps it looking natural and avoids the ‘stripey look’.”
Joanne used a mixture of colours and tape variants, mixing both GL Tapes and their new GL Tapes Minis which are only 0.5cm x 1.5cm in size, “I used colours 03,05,67 and 85 in 45cm/18” and a combination of GL Tapes and GL Tapes Minis. Each tape ‘sandwich ‘ has a lighter shade underneath and either shades 03 or 05 on top. This is important when Scarlett’s hair moves as it creates a seamless blend between Scarlett’s natural hair and the extensions, meaning there won’t be any big blocks of blonde colour on show. The GL Tapes Minis are great to work with, they’re so discreet and easy to place around the sides and top rows”.
Scarlett also shared on her Instagram that she had donated her previous Great Lengths hair to The Little Princess Trust. Great Lengths have been partnered with the trust since 2015, celebrating their 5th year with the charity this year. Great Lengths hair is donated globally to the cause to help make wigs for children and young people suffering from hair loss from cancer treatment or other illnesses. Scarlett commented: “One of the most amazing things about Great Lengths extensions, apart from the fact that the hair is beautiful, is that you can donate the hair to The Little Princess trust. The hair extensions I had previously applied when I had dark hair will help young children who are going through cancer treatment, it will be used to create wigs for them, so I just think that’s a wonderful little bonus that Great Lengths offer, it’s such a wonderful cause”.
