Northampton salon Seckingtons recently held its annual Christmas soiree, raising funds for a local charity and showcasing owner Seckington’s fancy footwork as he takes part in the Northampton Strictly competition.

Now in its second year, the event was held at the Wellingborough Road salon in November and welcomed around 200 friends and family along with current and prospective clients. Interior designer Fiona Knowles decked out the salon for the party which celebrated the end of the salon’s most successful year to date. Guests were also treated to 10 per cent off an array of gifts from the likes of ghd, Cloud 9 and Aveda as well as hair demonstrations and tutorials for the party season. A prize draw raffle with prizes donated from local businesses saw £300 raised for the Cynthia Spencer Hospice.

Salon owner, Johnny Seckinton, is this year taking part in Strictly Northampton and kicked off proceedings with a performance from his dance group. Performing during a short break from their eight hour dance rehearsal, Seckington took to the floor with dance partner Tracey Hales to showcase his talents ahead of the sell-out local Strictly show that took place on Saturday 21 November at Northampton’s Derngate Theatre.

He said: “I am absolutely delighted with the level of support that we have received for the Christmas Soiree from the community, local businesses and our clients. I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. The team have worked so hard to for the event, the second that we have done. For it to be a great success has been absolutely fantastic.”

The money raised at the Christmas party goes towards ongoing fundraising Seckington is is currently undertaking for the charity and is aiming to raise £2,000 for the cause. To help him to reach his target donations can be made to:
