Aiming for promotion
When providing an extension service, how do you maximise the opportunity and turn your investment into sizeable profits?
Johnny Yip, Managing Director of Zen Luxury Extensions, offers a few simple tips on making this service pay.
“There’s a multitude of marketing activities that can promote your extension business,” he said. “One of the first things we advise is to create a station where your extension business will run from. Make sure it’s dressed with promotional material to create a real service feature and talking point. Displaying your team’s training certificates and examples of before and after shots add credibility and sparks interest when clients see what can be achieved.”
Making sure clients are aware of your service and extensions expertise is also key.
“Make your service is as visible as possible and ensure you have materials to give to clients,” added Johnny. “As a luxury brand, we offer branded marketing and POS material to support in-salon promotional activity and train staff so they can confidently answer any questions too.”
After establishing a reputation for great hairdressing, the best way to start promoting your extensions service is to existing clients.
“Have information in the salon but also sending texts, emails or mailers to clients generates awareness and enquiries,” Johnny explained. “Existing clients already have confidence in your talents, so they are more likely to trust your new skills as an extensions provider. Think of promotions to launch your service and of course, use the power of social media to launch promotions, showcase your expertise and take before and after shots, with your clients permission, to highlight the transformation you can achieve with your clients hair.”
